Bio

Joanna Siebert

Joanna Siebert brings her passion for learning, knowledge of diverse industry sectors and professional pathways, and commitment to creating positive change to her position at the Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

As the institute’s associate director, Siebert takes a strategic approach to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of entrepreneurial education. She engages in planning and problem solving for the institute’s programmatic, marketing and operational endeavors, and she is the financial manager for the institute. In addition, she serves as the Blackstone LaunchPad campus director for UC Davis. She is committed to developing collaborative relationships to promote innovation and entrepreneurship at UC Davis and beyond. 

Siebert has nearly 20 years of experience designing, developing and implementing high-quality online and in-person learning experiences in a variety of academic and professional areas, including healthcare, technology, and business management and leadership. She has worked at UC Davis since 2016; prior to that she applied her acumen in developing and producing learning solutions for a variety of universities, publishing companies and media production teams. In addition, since 2007 Siebert has coached professionals seeking to advance or change careers, staying on top of emerging job trends to help her clients identify and achieve their goals.  

Siebert earned her master’s degree in education / human development and psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her bachelor’s degree in sociology at UCLA. She completed training in professional coaching, as certified by the International Coaching Federation, at UC Davis and the Coaches Training Institute, and she has engaged in numerous management and leadership programs, including the University of California Management Development Program.
