Berta Lascuevas Laguna

  • Leaders for the Future Fellow
Berta Lascuevas is a Ph.D. candidate in biological systems engineering at UC Davis. Her main interest is food waste valorization and byproduct handling, specifically looking for new treatments that could decrease the environmental impact and increase the value of waste processing techniques.

Grace Lebleu

  • Leaders for the Future Fellow
Grace Lebleu's is a graduate student studying nutritional biology, with a designed emphasis in biotechnology. Her research investigates the cellular and molecular basis of chronic disease with a focus on type 2 diabetes and its complications.

Isabel Ortega-Salazar

  • Leaders for the Future Fellow
Isabel Ortega-Salazar is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Horticulture and Agronomy Graduate Group at UC Davis. Her research combines plant breeding, biochemistry, molecular biology and food science approaches.

Nicole Rodrigues

  • Leaders for the Future Fellow
Nicole Rodrigues is a Ph.D. candidate researching the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, an invasive vector species in California responsible for diseases such as Zika and Dengue. Her current project explores novel attractants specific to this mosquito—not yet on the market—aiming to enhance monitoring and control.
